Heather Walker

BPharm, Independent Prescriber, MRPharmS

I studied at pharmacy at Bath University and then trained at several large teaching hospitals across the UK before working my way up to the highest level within a hospital pharmacy setting.

During this time I have undertaken further clinical and non-clinical studies and used these in practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.  I qualified as an independent prescriber in 2010 and then worked in an NHS clinic to assist a hospital consultant with the aim of improving access to treatment, reducing the waiting list and providing expert medicines advice.

In addition, I have worked for the Royal College of General Practitioners teaching doctors and community pharmacists and I have had work published in healthcare journals. I maintain my level of knowledge through attending training sessions and conferences.

I am trained to advanced practitioner level for both Botox and dermal fillers and am passionate about helping people achieve a healthy, youthful appearance.

I am a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of GB (RPSGB).

BSc, RGN, Cert HV, Dip asthma, Dip COPD, Cert Counselling, Level 3 sport massage

At university I did a biology degree then nursing, working on many different hospital wards including dermatology and ITU, gaining a great breadth of experience, which I hugely enjoyed. I developed an interest in community nursing and went on to become a health visitor for 8 years. During this time I found many people in need of psychological support and help to deal with their problems and make the best decisions for themselves. My certificate in counselling was invaluable, as it continues to be today.

When my patients develop health problems I focus on a client- centred approach for the best treatment for them, listening, researching and referring to senior doctors in the trust. Success over the years doing this led me to setting up and managing a lung research research centre. I attend international meetings and contribute to new developments through research with publications in several journals including the BMJ

I am very interested in helping people make the most of their health and appearance, working with them to optimize form and function. I have seen first-hand the huge improvements that can be achieved through new treatments applied carefully and professionally. This is the new way forward for clients to change and enhance their appearance and boost confidence.
